Job Description


Please note this is a 12-month fixed term contract role.


Your responsibilities will include:

ETL of Prophet Results

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the working of the FIS ETL tools
  • Design a database structure for storage of financial forecasting results
  • Implement the design in Microsoft SQL Server
  • Implement parameters for ETL processes that allow for data to be moved from FIS Prophet into the forecasting database.

Implementation of Euler Capital Allocation

  • Develop capability for forecasting database to implement the Euler capital allocation method based on the specification provided by the actuarial team

Provision of Results for Downstream Consumption

  • Provide data views and/or file extracts of financial forecasting results and Euler capital allocations as specified by other members of the project team.

Coding Environment

  • Perform and document system testing activities (unit testing, end to end testing, etc.)
  • Deploy solutions from Development to Pre-Prod and Prod environments
  • Ensure quality of code and adherence to platform frameworks and guidelines through code reviews and peer education.

Qualifications


Essential:

  • Strong SQL knowledge and development experience
  • Experience with design and developing data reconciliation & metadata driven data processing frameworks.
  • Cleansing, manipulating or joining large volumes of data to facilitate analytics
  • Working knowledge of Excel.
  • Experience in building real time or batch ingestion and transformation pipelines.
  • Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience working in the Financial Service Industry

Desirable:

  • SQL Database design experience.
  • Broad knowledge of application development tools, techniques and languages including C#, ASP.NET, T-SQL, IIS, Bootstrap, JQuery, Azure DevOps, GIT, Python, R, XML, JavaScript, HTML, CSS
  • At least 3 years of professional work experience
  • Experience with Atlassian software workflow and documentation tools – JIRA and Confluence
  • Good communication skills
  • Exposure to FIS insurance suite of products – Prophet
